well, i have hostgator hosting, and i downloaded the board3 1.0.2 portal and i unzipped it and uploaded it in the the forum directory where i put everything for my phpbb forum. how do i get it up and what am i doing wrong?

You probably should open the install.xml first in your browser. Also you could try to use the Portal FAQ here on this site.
