"Remember me" not working?

Your phpBB Type: Standard phpBB3
MODs installed: Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge
What have you done before the problem was there?
Installed 1.0.1, everything works fine
What have you already tryed to solve the problem?
Description and Message
The remember me option is not working for portal.php, but it does work if i set
DirectoryIndex index.php portal.php
The forum index remembers me but not the portal.php
