This Going to be It

Just thought I would join in and post up my test forum, which I am about to transfer to my live site. I am really pleased with the result and the portal is the big thing I needed to have to finish off the look and the information I want to convey to the member of the board as soon as they log on or even if a guest looks at the board. Integrating the whole site (that lives in the drop down menu) was fun and sometimes a challenge.
But here it is
here

I like it!
Nice idea to integrate everything of the site into the style via the drop down menu. Makes a very consistent impression to me.
And the complete styling is not overloaded - as i said - i like it.

Hello
*öhm*, Yes. My knowledge of the English language is not so good, so you have to read the Answer from Kevin once more, and you have my too.

So do I.
The dropdown menu is very nice and fast (seems to be a cssplay template) and it holds all your forum stuff at a glance.
Just a suggestion: maybe you could change the dropdown's colours to meet the forum/portal style.

I have been contemplating doing exactly what you suggested Thomas, my problem is that now looking at the page the "bg_header and bg_list" appear to be washed out and I must admit to being at a bit of a loss as to what I should do to make them look good. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. I had thought about similar colours for thew top but a glass effect? thoughts?

Had a look again, obviously you have installed the RC2 in the meantime.
Very beautiful with the icons!
But why don't you use the new "Latest news" template?

Looks very nice and you've changed the dropdown menu colours according to your style.
Very good job Steve (and I like the forum's subject).

Thank you for the nice words fellas, I have put in many hours testing different things to get what I have now. Kevin, my board is still RC1, as I have been busy on other things so I have not had a chance to upgrade yet. I am hoping to get that done in the next week. You will then see the new "Latest News" portal there

Wow - a beauty again!
Only one thing: in my opinion the topic icons are just a bit too large - at first sight.

Yar - this mod is awesome! Just updated it yesterday from 0.3.0 to 0.4.0RC2 - great new features!
