Hello.

I have some questions before I try the install/update.

I am running :

MOD Version Check - Board3 Portal is up to date
Current Version 1.0.6
Latest Version 1.0.6

My questions are:

• Im also running the theme you helped me with called "ca_black", so would like to know if this theme will work on 2.0.0b1? So I just would like to know if themes that worked on 1.0.6 will work on 2.0.0b1 ?
• This statement I find interesting - "Unlimited custom blocks - you can add as many custom blocks in the ACP as you want". Does this allow where to position the new blocks as well? For example, left, right or middle, or do we have to manually code the blocks in the template where we want the additional custom blocks to be put?

I''ll think I will wait until its gone alpha and test out or try and make the ca_black theme work with the new release much later on. For now, 1.6 works fine.

Personally I suggest installing 2.0 beta and playing around with it on your home machine.

I can't answer all your questions, but a few comments:

"wait untiil it's gone alpha". It's past alpha, it's at beta.

"custom blocks".

When you enter .MODS in the ACP there is now only 3 choices instead of loads. Clicking the center one gives you a rough view of where the blocks are and you can click arrowkeys to move them around to where you want them to be. Clicking another icon lets you change settings pertaining to that block.

Very very neat.

As I said, give it a try on a home machine and you won't be disappointed. Oh and look into the utf8_strpos thread for a fix to a bug you'll come across the first time you have a post that's longer than 200 or 250 chars. (that's what triggers that bug)

I have no idea why I said Alpha... Its obvious what I meant but I cant risk a beta atm. Plus I really want to know what mods are included or not compared to a 1.6 install. For example, currently we have :

  Newest Members
  Poll
  Recent Bots
  Peak Posters
  Mini Calendar
  Custom Block
  Links
  Friends
  Birthdays.

Most, but not all of these I use, and its going to take a lot longer to get sorted if I need to add them manually myself.

The other reason for not installing it is because there doesnt seem to be any support for portal themes on this atm, and its unclear if 1.6 themes can be used on a 2.0

I'll see anyway. Atm, its not broke as such, so not much point in fixing it.
