Raid & Event Planner (Beta)

I have been building a raid and event planner to replace phpraider (mostly because php raider doesn't integrate very well into phpbb3). My new planner is fully integrated with loads of features. Now that I've got you kinda excited, I will say that there is no ETA on a finished product. this thing is huge with so much stuff built in it will blow your mind (at least I hope it will)

Some key feature
- doesn't require board3 portal (but incorporates into. ie: weekly raids block included on the portal page)
- Full permission system (user/mod/admin levels)
- all current raids are included in the system
- admin has the ability to create as many other raid/event types he wants
- events show on the calendar with a icon (admin defined)
- private / public events can be created (ie: your guild only, or anyone that you give permission to see the planner, like friends and family of the guild)
- when an event is created it automatically creates a thread in a admin defined forum, for user discussion (links back and forth from the event to the thread and vica versa)
- full sign up system with tracking
ie: you can choose ICC 10 as the event and then define 2 Tanks, 3 healers etc etc.
users then sign up to fill the spots that are available, if the spots are overfilled ie 3 tanks sign up, the 3rd tank is placed on a waitlist, during the raid if one tank drops, the raid leader can easily alt tab pull up the wait list see that tank3 is signed up and message him in game to fill the tank spot. summon him in and your back to keeeeling.
- all bbcodes your site uses are available when you create your event's information section (this includes the wowhead bbcodes and any others you may have created)
- and event tracking in the user control panel. you can pull a list of all the events you are the creator (raid leader) of, or all events you have signed up for.
- the main calendar and portal block have popups that include all relevant event info ( the popup looks like my raid progress block popup, so if you use that everything will look the same)

- plugin system in development for extra features to be added down the road

currently there is one plugin (mostly finished) a tracker for Main and Alt characters, with many features. like...
- time limits on how often you can change your main/alt status
- the ability to create Main/Alt Moderators to handle updating the tracker for users that can't/don't know how/too lazy
- mods can bypass the time limits on changes
- Only one main can be set at anytime, when one is changed all your other toons change to alts automatically
- you can never have all alt toons, one has to be main
- full permission system is in place on both the user and mod level
- and a bunch of other stuff

ok that became a lot longer then i first thought..
you can view the working demo at http://test.iron-circle.com/raid.php (because of the permission system in place you need to be logged in to view the raid planner, registration is open)

you can also view the portal block on my live site at wow.iron-circle.com (you do not need to be logged in to see it. but it may be empty of raids depends on what raids are currently being run in my guild ie: private or public)

i love it m8 great work. i've only one question thou, is there anyway to set a recurring event that will display everyweek as we do a "surprise raid" every sunday to keep peeps on thier toes and adding that everyweek would get annoying and it would make it easier for our normal weekly events too

unfortunately no i no longer develop the bbDKP module, my real world activities took me away from the project to much for me to continue on with that project. it sucks because bbDKP is a great module for phpbb. but because of it's dependence on the eqdkp project it will never be able to be as good (remember this is only my opinon) as a ground up created DKP tracking tool built specifically phpbb. but since that doesn't exist (yet ) bbDKP is amazing and i'm glad my time there could help it along. in fact the raid tracking tool i built here is variant of the one i built for bbDKP originally. Now that I've thought of that I just had a great idea for a update to the raid progress block. should be a nice little addition.

question: are you planing on "attaching" accounts with their toons? if so are you using an external Mod or will it be in the mod itself?

if you would be so awesomely kind i would love to test your Mod with my guild, since it is a tool i have been looking for quite some time.

Now we are at least 2 ppl waiting for build-in raidplanner ... Is tired of phpraider even its now released in a 1.0.9 version, so keep up the good work Tek

Btw one of the reasons I asked about your work with bbDKP is actualy that they also working on a raidplanner, and then you maybe shared ideas or even code.

I actually checked your test site, and noticed that you can create you characters with tags (main, alts) so i think i understand how that works now. i wonder if there is a way to update them from wowarmory though, have you thought of that option?

there probably is a way to grab your characters info from the armory, i haven't looked much into the XML requester bliz uses for that.

the main/alt thing is something i'm working on so your guild can track the current status of all there toons. so they know if, say someone is signing up to a raid with an under geared alt.

i've also added the ability for the raid leader to change the status/role/note/etc of anyone signed up to there raid. so if you think "orcwarrior" is better as a tank but he signed up as dps you can move him into a tank spot, and then update his note and tell him to bring his f'n shield.

Lol ! thats awesome it helps cause my OT like to piss me off by signing up as dps and i have to change him to tank everytime.

we used to have our guild website on wowstead and i loved their integrated raid planner, alas their service is horrid, and they also seemed to been infected with a keylogger, cause a few of my guild mates, as well others on my server who use that have been hacked into. (bad ppl should learn to not use the same email/password, and buy and authenticator).

another feature that i guess im wondering is the ability to maybe have a drop down menu to choose which toon a player wants to raid with (im an altoholic with 3 raiding toons).

what do you mean by a toon you want to raid with? like you want one designated as a raid only toon? cause you can sign up with any toon you have created in the system already. can you elaborate a little on what you want?

and don't worry about going over the line, there is no line to go over with me. i love suggestions for my mods, i'm not one of those guys that thing the best way is my way, you guys have helped shape many a mod i've created and made them better in the process.

i think he's on about selecting a specific char to raid with per signup, IE monday -- pala tank, tuesday -- elemental shaman. and so on. i think raid ninja had something along the lines like that but its not in development any more and was pretty darn ugly code too

it looks like i'm going to have a good solid 15 days off base leave coming up, so I will be doing some more coding and working on this. if i can get a test (see alpha release) version ready, i will put it up. no promises though. i'm assuming the wife will want to occupy most of my time.

gotta get that raid progress mod updated first though. seems there's some hard mode's that need to be added.
