Help creating custom block

Description and Message
I have a group on my forum named "ALL-STAR", and I'd like to show the latest members to the group in a custom left block. I'm assuming I can copy and edit most of the "latest members block", and add to it to make it only for the ALL-STAR Group. But, it is way over my head... I'm a complete noob.
Can anyone help with this?
