Is it possible to show who has donated for the month then reset once the month has ended?

Great idea. I want this too.

It's definitely needed. My old nuke-evo site had a donations block and if other users saw donations, they felt compelled too. Whoever donated gets to have their name on the homepage for the month. Whatever works.

Any code you can show us, how to grab the data from PayPal?

No need to query paypal. The user inputs the amount before getting transferred to paypal. This amount is sent to the DB. If the user quits the transaction, they are sent to a cancel page and the amount is never displayed.

If the user completes the transaction and clicks the "Return to Merchant" button, the amount is displayed in the donation block.

Although it is very interesting, this would be a bigger thing to do. I guess we need a new DB table for this and several checkings.
So i cant promise that we get into it in the near future. The release of the next version is higher in priority.
But if someone has the time to realize it, this could be offered as a addon and we can see if we'll integrate it as a standard feature.

Ok, folks, I'm working on this Paypal IPN script that will do that for you.
Paypal has a thing called IPN (Instant Paypal Notification) that verifies the payment to a URL on your site.
All you have to do is either setup the ION URL on your PP account or include it in your request. I even have
a script to process the returned info.

I am still working on it but am very close.

I stopped working on it because I was laid off from my job. I don't have time to do this as of now.

Guess someone deleted my link. Can someone modify the current donation block that comes with the board3 install and have it support IPN and also show who has donated?

Not a very active community is this.

We do have a real life, even if that is hard to believe. If someone has time and the knowledge to create this, then he or she will probably come forward.

I understand the real life thing. I just don't want to see a promising community and mod die. Board3 is a really cool mod. the paypal IPN thing would make you stand out from the rest. that's for sure.

I'll try to get to it sometime in the next month or so. I lost my hosting due to unemployment and don't yet have host.
You cannot test IPN if you run localhost. I now work for a place where I can upload my stuff to their server
for testing.
