Update from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 with automod

Hi.
Just saw that a new version of the portal has been released.
I've got two questions.
1) I have installed v1.0.3 with automod. How can I upgrade to 1.0.4 the easiest way? Would I just add the v1.0.4 folder to store/mods and then from the automod go to details and install the update?
2) Is the issue with users not staying logged in solved? And what about the changes performed to solve that issue?
