[Released] Add-On Block for Advertisement Management

Post by MOB »

Addon: for Advertisment Management v1.0.10+
Addon Version: 1.0.0
Addon Author: MOB
Addon Description: Block for Board3 Portal to support a block for Advertisement Management. This one will add a block at the bottom of the right column. (If you need one for the left column, just post below, so I can do it for you. :) )

supports Board3 Portal 2.0.x
supports prosilver
supports subsilver2
supports AutoMOD
phpBB3: 3.0.12

Download: B3_Portal_Ad_Mgt_ R_ Block_1_0_0.zip
MD5 checksum 64018A3BC95FB0DF0641CE614EA648B6

Installation level: Easy
AutoMOD: Yes
Installation time: ~2 minutes
Author notes:
  • You should first install Advertisement Management
  • This block should support vertical banners such as: 160px x 600px banners.
  • You'll need to create a new Ad Position in Advertisement Management and then it should give you a position ID like {ADS_10} -- depending how many custom positions you've created.
  • This add-on is not administered in the ACP, you will have to edit the "ads_right.html" file to enter your AD Position ID.
Instructions:
  1. Be sure to make the modifications to your custom style and also upload the two files to their correct directories.
  2. Edit ads_right.html and replace the position ID according to what your Advertisement Management version gives you.
  3. By default the file has {ADS_10} -- but you will need to change that so it displays the ad position you've created.
  4. After you manually edit the file, then purge your cache and refresh your styles.

** NOTE: I haven't learned how to make modules, but as soon as I wrap my brain on it, I may end up updating this add-on--that's if someone doesn't beat me to it--which would be a nice touch for once. :)

What have you for a portal version?
Load each file individually via FTP prescribed in the Directory.

Keep in mind this is not a module you can install using the Portal's installation feature. Instead, you are suppose to use phpbb's automod.
