background in welcome-block not working ..?

What have you done before the problem was there?
Nothing, it's a clean phpbb3 install with a clean Portal install, no other mods or anything.

What have you already tryed to solve the problem?
Re-uploaded all theme related files to the theme (Silvester) folder I'm using, added import of portal.css to stylesheet, googled and searched this forum.

Dear readers,

I have just installed a brand new phpBB forum with the Portal mod. Everything went smoothly so I'm quite happy

One thing I can't figure out though: when a guest visits the portal page, the Welcome block is displayed. That works like a charm, exept for the background. All other blocks show the background perfectly, this block for some reason doesn't.

I don't know what else to try, so hopefully somebody here knows what file to edit so this block displays the correct background - black on darkblue isn't too readable

Refresh your theme cache.

That I did - more then once Also cleaned browser cache, restarted FireFox, but there's something wrong in a bit of code somewhere

It is actually not loading portal.css. Are you sure you really refreshed the theme cache of your style? If that does not work, try deleting all the files inside your cache folder except for index.html, .htaccess and queue.php.

Yes, I've just done another refresh and checked to see if I didn't forget to add the @import for the portal stylesheet.
I'll try deleting using FTP, leaving the files index.html, .htaccess and queue.php ...

Yay, we have a background! Doesn't look quite right yet, but at least it's readable now
I was clearing the cache using the phpBB admin (styles and global tab) but using FTP seems to do the trick.

Never thought of simply using FTP to clear the cache folder

A friend had a look and e-mailed me some new files. Uploaded those and the problem is fixed.

You didnt upload portal.css, nor include it to your stylesheet.css

I just changed the theme- not real happy with this one either so I'll probably change it again

It's working with the theme I used before, and I'm sure it'll work with this one when I've uploaded everything. With the new files, everything works like a charm.
