Ok I found it by myself !!

How to Update:
Download and unzip the current release.
Navigate in the ACP to Customise -> Manage extensions.
Look for Board3 Portal under the Extensions list, and click its Disable link.
Delete the old Board3 Portal directory at ext/board3/portal/ from your server ...

ok i found it

there was a backtrace of the previous install of the portal in my DB

so the URL to my portal was like that http://XXXXX.com/portal/portal.php?sid= ... 2787316c85

instead of http://XXXXX.com/portal/

my bad !!!

i still have this frakin error just with firefox regardless of the settings ... it works fine with IE and chrome

i have almost the same issue

i get this error with URL Rewriting" in the ACP->Server Settings Enable or Disable ...
No route found for "GET /portal.php"

i edited as required the .htaccess file with
DirectoryIndex app.php/portal index.php index.html index.htm

and the mod_rewrite module is ...

so easy !!!
