Yes, there will be improvements and new features in the next release of Board3 portal. Don't know when, but I hope soon. ;) In the mean time you could use the actual release without many risks, because this (beta) version is pretty stable. The developments in Board3 and in phpBB3 portal are complete...

You should know that in the download of the Board3 portal there are also upgrades provided from phpBB3 portal releases to the latest Board3 portal.

Very nice in IE7 but in FF the "Welcome-bar" is not in the center

I'm not a HTML-expert, but perhaps you have to move the </center> after the "Intro"

You could make a new block and use that instead of the Welcome-block (you can switch that off in ACP): viewtopic.php?f=9&t=310&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Or wait for one of the next Portal-versions with the possibility of using BB-code in the Welcome-block.
